The India-made (Maruti) Suzuki Super Carry has arrived at a dealership in South Africa. Suzuki's newest commercial vehicle is priced from 129,900 Rand (INR 5.58 lakhs).

The Suzuki Super Carry has a payload capacity of 750 kg. As for dimensions, the Super Carry is 3.8 meters long and 1.56 meters wide, and has a load deck that is 2.18 x 1.49 meters big. It rides on an independent front suspension featuring MacPherson struts and coil springs while a rigid axle and leaf springs perform duty at the rear. The ground clearance is 175 mm, while the turning cycle is 8.6 meters diameter.

Powering the Super Carry is a 1.2-liter GB14 four-cylinder petrol engine, which outputs 72 hp at 6,000 rpm and 101 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Suzuki Super Carry is claimed to be the “most fuel-efficient CV in its class”.

The Super Carry will be manufactured and exported from India, while a market launch in India itself will take place in the second quarter of this fiscal year. Unlike the SA-spec model, the Maruti Super Carry is expected to source the 0.8-liter twin-cylinder DDiS 125 diesel engine used in the Celerio.
