Custom Yamaha RX100 'Baby Blue' by Ironic Engineering

The Yamaha RX100 was manufactured in India till 1996.

The Yamaha RX100 is an entry level icon which motorcycle enthusiasts still swear by. The two-stroke baby was all about raw power and acceleration. A Hyderabad-based group, Ironic Engineering, have modified a Yamaha RX100 with the legendary Speed Block livery, calling it the Baby Blue.

The Yamaha RX100 Baby Blue gets a raised suspension up front and a custom made swingarm. The footpegs have also been made by Ironic Engineering. The handlebar is wider than the stock version while the bike gets an expansion chamber and a new exhaust unit. The rear suspension includes a monoshock unit. The headlamp gets a rectangular unit while the knobby tyres will help grip the road not taken.

The custom seat gets a brown unit. The Yamaha RX100 Baby Blue also gets a smartphone as an instrumentation console which backs up as a navigation module as well. Powering the bike is a 98 cc air cooled, single cylinder mill which is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine in its stock form is capable of producing 11 hp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 10.39 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

The Yamaha RX100 had to be discontinued due to stricter emission norms. Yamaha India pays tribute to the bike with the Yamaha Saluto RX.
